Ty and I have been out in Boston for 2 weeks now...despite the fact that our blog looks like we are perpetually vacationing in Las Vegas (wouldn't that be nice...). We've had a crazy busy couple of weeks, so I haven't been able to post anything about the fun trip I took with my family, (it was my graduation present because YES, as a sidenote, I'm an official BYU grad! Thanks again Mom and Dad!!!). Here's our trip, in a tidy, condensed, blogging format :)
So the premise of the vacation was for us to go see my brother Brett run the Boston Marathon. We got to Boston on Saturday night, and the marathon was on Monday, so the first day we were there was just in preparation for the marathon. Despite awful conditions (wind, apparently the runners arch nemesis), and a course known to be extremely difficult, Brett ran his best marathon ever in 2:59! It was awesome that I got to be there to celebrate with him, he really did amazing! Unfortunately I didn't even think to pull my camera out when he ran by us, so the only picture I have is this one when we went to lunch after the marathon (he and Jill are checking out his mile times on his watch). Congrats again B!
We spent a couple days in Boston after the marathon seeing sights. We did a Duck tour, and walked around downtown; in the rain unfortunately.
Marc and Ashley on the T...
Syd on the T in some stylin shades...
Syd and Aidan outside Boston's first public library (the countries first public library actually)...
Walking around downtown. I loved being able to spend so much time with my neices and nephew...I was the preferred hand holder when we were sight-seeing which I loved :)
I can't remember where exactly this is, but we'd just gotten off the T to see some sights, and it was raining so hard we got right back on and went to the hotel...this is the whole group except for Brett, who was taking the picture. L-R; Dad, Mom, Ashley, Marc, Sydney, Staci, Aidan, Jill, Makenzy
While I got to vacation in Boston with my family, Ty was driving from Utah to Massachusetts (a super long drive!) He got to come spend one night in Boston with my family though, which was really fun. We're on our way to dinner right here and I think this is the cutest picture...it was raining soooo hard...
We drove from Boston to New York City on Wednesday, and stayed at my favorite hotel I've ever stayed at in Times Square. This is at a really cool restaurant at our hotel that had a view of Times Square.
Aidan and Syd and me with Times Square in the background...
All the girls on the trip (if you count Kenzy's foot :) L-R: Syd, Me, Ashley, Mom, Jill
Kenzy and Syd hanging out...
The next day we walked around some places in New York, here we are outside of Central Park...
My mom and me...
Brett, Jill, Aidan, and Kenz...
Marc, Ashley, and Syd...
While we were walking around we watched a group of dancers performing on the street, they were pretty funny--but most of their show was talking instead of dancing...
They grabbed Aidan out of the crowd to go up and help them with a trick they were doing, and he was so serious about it! He did everything they told him to and didn't crack a single smile. He was all business, and he did great! :)
They then got my brother Marc to go up there and help, which was really funny because he wasn't paying attention so they made him go up. At least then he could protect Aidan in the event of any danger :)
This tall fella did a barrel roll over the group of them. It was their coolest trick.
The night before I left I went to Wicked with Brett and Jill. We got tickets kind of last minute so they only had "premium" seating, which was awesome because we were on the 5th row! I love Broadway plays, and this one was no exception!
The stage, kind of gives an idea of how close we were...
This picture is definitely too close to my face, but since I risked my life to get it I figured I should post it. The usher was walking around yelling at people she saw with cameras, it was terrifying :) I had tons of fun being able to go with Brett and Jill!
I headed to Boston the next day, and the past couple weeks have definitely been a whirlwind but they've been really fun too. I love the summers, and this one has started off great: complete with fabulous apartments (way nicer than any we've ever had), and tons of girls to hang out with. As usual, Ty is doing a great job and I'm so proud of how hard he works. I'll post some pic's of the things we've done out here as soon as my hands un-cramp from typing this post. Till then I hope everyone is doing great!!!
Kenzy after we ate at the Cheesecake Factory. She was using her binky as a spoon to dish whipped cream into her mouth...it was the cutest thing ever! :)
