Ty and I went to Las Vegas on Wednesday (Ty's birthday) to spend a few days celebrating both of our birthdays. The weather was fabulous, which was the best birthday present Ty could have asked for, and we got to do some really fun stuff. Oh Las Vegas I love you...
*Terry Fator and His Cast of Thousands*
This is Tyler This is Staci
We got to Vegas Wednesday afternoon and went to the Terry Fator show at The Mirage that night. Ty's parents had gone to it the week before and had got Ty tickets for his birthday. I'd never heard of him (he won America's Got Talent), but he was absolutely incredible! He's a ventriloquist, has an amazing singing voice, and is really funny. We looved the show and if anyone's going to Vegas anytime soon I would definitely recommend it!
See how much fun we obviously had?
*Bootleg Canyon Zipline*
We got to our zipline tour maybe 5 minutes late, and missed it, so we had two hours to kill till the next tour. We went to beautiful Boulder City, NV and got ice cream at Grandma Daisy's candy shop--complete with a chain-smoking grandma behind the counter. Ty's just killing some time with a friendly cow.
After checking in at the zip line place, we rode about fifteen minutes up a mountain in a van, then hiked ten more till we got to the first zip line start point. I hope these pictures can convey the excitement Ty and I were brimming with as we were awaiting our adventure. These pictures were probably taken 3-5 minutes before the guide announced that due to wind conditions it would be up to us whether we wanted to ride the zip lines or not. No problem, until 2 kindly middle-aged women (frankly I have absolutely no idea how they found themselves on a high adventure zip line tour outside Las Vegas) decided they thought it would be too dangerous, or too fun or something, making it unable for any of us in the group to ride the zip lines. Utterly disappointing. The worse part was that if we had made it to our originally scheduled appointment we could have done it! So frustrating!!
*Later that day...*
I had to put the picture on the left because the silhouette of my dress is soooo funny...
We happened upon this huge Transformer in front of the Paris Hotel. Pretty much a dream come true for Ty...
We ate at a really good restaurant out on the strip right across from the Bellagio where we got to watch their fountain show while we ate. I just thought this picture was really cute...and this is my blog. So...
*Cirque du Soleil's "Love"*
Ty got us tickets to go to "Love" for my birthday. I absolutely loved it! All of the Cirque du Soleil shows are amazing, but this one had the most dancing in it of any I'd seen, and I love love loved it! It was incredible!
And by the way, this will most likely be the last time I get to wear this silly hipped dress...I left it in the closet of our room at Mandalay Bay, and apparently the hotel staff there have never dealt with such a far-fetched occurance and have absolutely no idea what to do in said situation. While my dress is likely hanging peacefully in room 26205, I'll never know.
*Nascar Ride-Along*
After the upset of the Bootleg zip line fiasco I had to find some way to make up for Ty's adventure deprived vacation, so we went to the Las Vegas Speedway where we got to ride in Nascar car's with real drivers. While Ty didn't think it was fast enough, and wanted to be driving his own, I was blown away and had tons of fun going 165 mph!
We had a great trip! Just what Ty needed before his hair pulling out summer starts at the end of this month!
